After a week recovering from wounds sustained in a knife attack that claimed the life of her husband in Beijing, Barbara Bachman returned to the U.S. on Friday, the Star Tribune reported. She was admitted to the Mayo Clinic in Minneapolis, and after an examination, is listed in fair condition.
Her three daughters returned with her, including her youngest, Elisabeth McCutcheon, who witnessed the attacks on her parents and their Chinese tour guide. Elisabeth's husband, Hugh, remained in China and returned to his position as coach of the U.S. Men's Volleyball team. The team won its first game after McCutcheon's return, continuing its undefeated streak.
