North Carolina garden retailers hope customers will flock to stores, now that recent rains have put a dent in the area’s drought, local news station WRAL reported.
“We haven't made up for lost business, because I think customers are still concerned with all the water restrictions, even though we are getting plenty of rainfall,” said Jason Holt, manager of Atlantic Avenue Orchid and Garden Center in Raleigh, N.C.
Officials in Raleigh eased watering restrictions in early April. Homeowners can now water outdoors 2 days a week.
