Joe Burks, 1928-2007

Prominent nurseryman and rose grower Joe Burks, 79, of Tyler, Texas, died June 3. Burks was president of Certified Rose Growers Inc.He was president of Texas Rose Research Foundation and Texas Rose Festival Procurement chairman. He was president of Texas Association of Nurserymen, recipient of the Texas Outstanding Nurseryman Award, president of All-America Rose Selections, and served on the board of governors for American Association of Nurserymen.
